Developing Your Networking Goals

If you’re serious about developing a networking strategy, you must set some goals so you can measure and track your progress. The process of setting goals and reviewing where you are in achieving them is all part of being intentional about your business success.

As Steven Covey stated in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People  “BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.”

Dream…visualize…and put some thought to these questions. Better yet, write down your answers as a method of becoming intentional about your success.

  • Where do you want to be in a year?
  • How do you want your business to look?
  • Who will you be doing business with?
  • What level of success will your business have achieved?

Once you have a big picture about how you want things to be in your business, take a look at the questions for setting Networking Goals (shown below). How can networking help you achieve those bigger goals? How can you proactively build this progress into your business plan?

    • Jeanine, I find you have to be intentional about the level of success you want from your networking. Once you know where you’re headed, you can chart your course to get there.

  1. I’ve done quite a bit of teaching and preaching on goal setting, and your questions and observations are “spot on”! Concrete. Specific. Measurable. Timely. Good stuff! And I love “7 Habits”! Best to you!
